Wine Auction
As we prepare for our annual auction, we are beginning to collect wine for our wine basket. Any families who are able to donate a bottle (or three!) of wine, please drop it off in the main office at any time. We will turn each bottle over to the FOL right away. Red or white, sweet or's completely up to you. We only ask that each bottle have a minimum price point of $20.

Thank you so much in advance for your donation!

So many parents have reached out to me over the past month to ask how they can pitch in and help with plans for school improvements. Thank you for your positive messages!! I'm excited to announce our first parent committee focused on improving Climate and Culture. Huge thanks to Rachael Russ for leading this effort!
Dear Fellow Parents,

If you are interested in participating on this PAC, please email me directly at ( so we can plan our first meeting.

I look forward to hearing from many of you!

The Chicago Blues First Lego League Robotics team for 2017-2018

Congratulations to our Chicago Blues team who placed second overall in the competition in Evanston in December to advance to the State of Illinois competition in Elgin among 51 other teams. Our project won First Place in Evanston. The theme this year was Hydrodynamics. Our project was to help solve the imminent world problem of WATER SCARCITY. By conceiving of the NANO-DESALINATOR H2O, a portable water filter designed to purify salt water using less energy and pricing it so impoverished communities could buy it. Places like Puerto Rico might especially find it useful after a natural disasters such as Hurricane Maria.

Our group:
Justis Walker, Emerson Tiller, Charlie Duritsa, Carlton Christian, Mila Wolf, and coaches Rich Christian and Chris Wolf. All families/parents participated heavily in the practices and preparation for competition.

Correction - LSC CIWP Committee Open Forum Meeting Rescheduled

As previously announced, the LSC CIWP Committee open forum meeting has been rescheduled to February 13, 2018. However, the meeting will occur immediately following the LSC meeting and not during the LSC meeting as previously announced. The LSC meeting begins at 5:45 p.m. If things go as planned, I believe the CIWP open forum should begin by 6:15 pm. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely, Rob Schnitz - LSC Chairperson
