There is a whole new group of LaSalle parents joining our community in the fall! Please consider welcoming these lucky few and assisting with school tours on Tuesday, April 18th from 5:30 to 6:30pm. We'll need 10-12 parents to be sure the tours run smoothly. This is a very fun volunteer experience!

Stand with Malala Movement
*Please see the note below from one of our wonderful students, Eliana DeBates. Eliana is running this program for the second year in a row and we are so proud of her advocacy!!!

I, Eliana De Bates along with Mr. Choi and my class room 202 would like to bring back The Stand with Malala movement to the school for the second year in a row. The date will be the Monday-Wednesday, April 17-19 after spring break. We will have a donation box located outside the office.

I am very pleased to have this opportunity to do this again! These are the following rules for the clothes drive. But please note the following:

All clothing that we receive must be freshly cleaned and should not be damaged in any way. Please don't send us anything with:

-Fading
-Pilling
-Stretched or misshapen fabric
-Stains or discoloration of any kind
-Odors
-Rips, holes, tears, snags or runs in the fabric
-Missing or damaged fasteners: buttons, zippers, ties, hooks, snaps, etc.

Sincerely, Eliana De Bates
Thank you to so many of you who worked and planned for the incredible Luck of LaSalle Auction this year! It was a wonderful evening and a fantastic time was had by all! Look for a special newsletter devoted to 'all things auction' this week :)
Clean & Green is a citywide program designed to foster neighborhood pride and celebrate Earth Day. Residents, civic associations, and other community groups can help make their neighborhood cleaner through this volunteer program. The City of Chicago will support your cleanup efforts by providing brooms, rakes, trash bags, and other tools. Earth Day provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the environment and how we must all help to protect it.

Attached is a flyer that provides specific information about the program which you may post and share. Please note the deadline for registration is Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

Please see the letter from our Chief Education Officer, Dr. Janice Jackson, here regarding SQRP ratings this year. Most notable is the decision CPS has made to continue use of NWEA MAP testing for all accountability measures (SQRP, selective enrollment applications, etc) and to hold off on any decision regarding PARCC testing until more information is available from the state.
