Mayflower Help

Hello Room 101 Families!

I just realized that I will need to change the date of the class
"traveling" on the Mayflower, thus the building of the boat will have to
happen a day sooner. Tuesday the 27th is our 1st Grade Potluck Dinner, and
if you have some extra time after the dinner to help build the Mayflower it
would be much appreciated! So, if you are great with a staple gun (and
maybe even have one!!), duct tape, 2x4's, and don't mind standing on chair
and/or desks I would love your help Tuesday after the Potluck!

Something else to maybe start thinking about is an outfit for your 1st
grader. When we "travel" on the boat, February 28th and March 1st, we also
try to dress the part! Eventually your first grader will receive a short
bio of an actual passenger from the Mayflower. I encourage everyone to
dress as their passenger to again compare and contrast similarities and
differences from then and now. You will also be invited to come see and
learn a little about the Mayflower on Thursday March 1st from 3:30-4!

Your first grader does not know any of these details about this unit yet as
we are focusing on Black History at the moment, but I wanted to give you a
heads up of what it to come!

Thanks so much for your support and I hope you are enjoying all of the snow!

Again, please let me know if you can help out after the Potluck!
